Time limits

Yesterday I was on a flight to Chicago for a business meeting. Our agenda was to develop a plan to promote some new research we had done. I wanted to get some thoughts together beforehand but not spend a lot of time on it. So on the flight I gave myself 30 minutes to come up with everything I could think of in that amount of time.

I used a mind map method and was surprised at the amount of ideas that came to me in such a short amount of time:

Next time you have want to jump start a list of ideas, get out a blank piece of paper, put your main issue/problem/result in the middle, and just start branching out with as many ideas as you can in a short amount of time. You'll be surprised at the number you generate.
